Gippsland Sports Academy will again run its Junior Development Program in 2026/27 with Andrew Brady as Head Coach. This year we will also have guest coaches assisting with the program. The program will have Trap, Skeet & Sporting disciplines.

Students offered a place in the squad will get the opportunity to attend 5 coaching days in 2026/27 along with our Sport science program which covers Strength & Conditioning, Sport Psychology & Nutrition. We are also looking to host an Inter Academy Challenge with South West & Bendigo Academies of Sport.

This program is a sub-elite level coaching program. It is intended to prepare students for events of a calibre to achieve results capable of national program selection. (eg ACTA Academy) As such there is a reasonable expectation that students (with parental assistance) will seek out and compete in events in their discipline at significant club events, interschool competition, some state carnivals (VIC/SA/NSW/TAS) and National Championships.

Alex-Vuillermin-rowing

The Gippsland Sports Academy has played a significant role in shaping me both as an athlete and as a person. From a young age, my involvement in volleyball, progressing into rowing, helped me develop a strong, disciplined mindset of consistency and accountability. The support, coaching, and high-performance environment encouraged me to push through comfort zones while maintaining focus under pressure, while also bridging opportunities with the Victorian Institute of Sport. The Academy also taught me how to carry myself with professionalism and composure on the world stage, representing not just myself but my team, region, and country. The Gippsland Sports Academy will forever hold a place in my heart.
